Sitting poolside on a Saturday, thinking life is what you make it, they say. However, I believe that depends on one’s circumstances. I realized decades ago that everybody won’t make it to higher heights, but if you keep the faith, you can still reap the benefits of a good life. As I chill here reading The Great Rat Race Escape, I can’t help but think about what my life will be like once I’m finally free. Free from working for someone else. Doing exactly what I want every day seems so far away. But as I sit here and type, this is currently my life. I’m not in the rat race as of now, but for how much longer will this last?

My daily life is a reflection of what God wants it to be, I think! For the most part, I live a solo life; I only call the people who call me. No hate, no shade, no anger; it is what it’s going to be. I removed myself from any and everything that doesn’t serve me. As I continue to read this book, my desire to never work for anyone again grows stronger by the minute. I want to do exactly what I want to do, no exceptions. Feet kicked up, all while soaking in the sun, I can’t help but think: when will my desire become my full reality? Each day I wake up with a schedule and agenda to change my life. Although I have accomplished many things in different areas of my life, I still strive to achieve new heights. As I set my book down, I started to daydream about a different life, one that includes new acquaintances, a better routine, and no worries about money.
Money is something we all need, but something I refuse to chase; I have no desire to. Yes, I need more money, but who doesn’t in this day and time. Meanwhile, I live by The Freedom Method I created, which allows me to take breaks to sit still with my thoughts. Sit still with myself and enjoy the small things in life. It allows me to work on things I desire that don’t involve other people’s perception or advice. As I daydream, there are a few other people at the pool, swimming and chatting amongst one another; I haven’t really looked at any of them as I’m often in my own world even amongst a crowd. But overall I have no real valid complaints…let me get back to my book!
Catch you later.
