Often, life seems to repeat itself, at least for me, since I’m a solo person. To change the vibes, I have to get up each day and try to do something different, but how different can life get when nothing really excites me anymore? Driving or walking around in Baltimore, I see no familiar faces. This city is so different now; I get it, though times have surely changed as they should.

I’m not sure what I expected life to look like at this point, but it’s definitely different from what I once envisioned. As I get older, I find it increasingly difficult to meet people who genuinely match my vibe, and sometimes that makes me grieve the friendships I’ve lost along the way. It also makes me reflect on what made some of my old friends so special in the first place.
Truth be told, many people only become friends due to superficial reasons, proximity, or simply being in the same place at the same time. I’ve always been very different from most of the people I was once close with, in many ways. Walking my own path, never having a need to fit in. Losing friends, whether it be to disagreements or death, has never been easy, but as we know, life moves on, and we have no choice but to embrace the unknown.
